William Shakespeare knew a lot about words and how to use them, as well as the amazing shades of force and colors a single word can have. In the beginning there was the word. Sacred texts are words that have guided humans since the discovery of fire. Sad words can make us cry. Funny words make us laugh. Words can bring us closer or drive us apart. A language is just that : words! lots of words that make the backbone of any culture.
Languages separate humans. Imagine a UNO meeting with no interpreters! What makes interpreters' work fascinating is that we are the main tool available to break the language barrier. Interpreters have been doing this for millenia. They will continue for as long as humans use different languages.
